2012 Deep Freeze Dunk – January 21st!

by Steve

penguinsThe Rotary Club of Maple Grove, along with other Rotary Clubs and individuals, are committed to raising money to build a public secondary school in Rankit, Haiti. Their fundraising venture is the January 21st Deep Freeze Dunk, also known as a polar plunge, into the icy Minnesota water.

This will be the third annual Deep Freeze Dunk and is scheduled to take place at Fish Lake Regional Park in Maple Grove, MN, with registration starting at 11:30 a.m.  on Saturday, January 21, 2012. The actual dunking will start promptly at 1:00 p.m.

Do you have the courage to particpate? Those who are brave enough are being called Penguin Dunkers. Those who are excited for the event and raising money for Haiti, but are too chicken to dunk are being called Chicken Dunkers. If this is more your style, please help us raise money and show up for the Deep Freeze Dunk to cheer on the dunkers!

Why are we raising money for Rankit, Haiti?

In the country of Haiti, the poorest in the hemisphere, only 18% of the children have a secondary school to attend. That means that more than 80% cannot advance beyond a 6th grade education! Funds raised by the Deep Freeze Dunk will go to help make this dream a reality for thousands of students in this town.
