2010 Deep Freeze Dunk Coming!

by Steve

penguinsThe Rotary Club of Maple Grove, along with other Rotary Clubs and individuals, are committed to raising money to build a public secondary school in LaVictoire, Haiti. Their newest fundraising venture is the January 23rd Deep Freeze Dunk, also known as a polar plunge into the icy Minnesota water.

This event is scheduled to take place at Fish Lake Regional Park in Maple Grove, MN from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, January 23, 2010. Do you think you can particpate? Those who are brave enough are being called Penguin Dunkers. Those who are excited for the event and raising money for Haiti, but are too chicken to dunk are being called Chicken Dunkers. If this is more your style, please help us raise money and show up for the Deep Freeze Dunk to cheer on the dunkers!

Why are we raising money for LaVictoire, Haiti?

In the country of Haiti, the poorest in the hemisphere, only 18% of the children have a secondary school to attend. That means that more than 80% cannot advance beyound a 6th grade education! Funds raised by the Deep Freeze Dunk will go to help make this dream a reality for thousands of students in this town.
